Charlene was inspired by a colorful neighbor who lived next door when Amanda was a bit older. This neighbor was quite the character, always having men over at her trailer and dancing for them, wearing nothing but bright lipstick for makeup, convinced she looked fabulous. Charlene's mannerisms, however, were inspired by another local legend who couldn't sit still. By blending this bold confidence and erratic energy, Amanda brought Charlene to life, creating a hilarious and unforgettable trailer park queen.
Henry-Trailer Park Dad
The character of Trailer Park Dad draws from Amanda's own father, a hardworking man who tirelessly provided for his large family but found himself outnumbered by daughters. He approached parenting with a tough hand, often seeming harsh, yet his instincts about people and their intentions were remarkably insightful. Known for his no-nonsense attitude, he wasn't traditional in his parenting methods—some might even call him an asshole—but his dedication to his family and his journey to sobriety from a lifelong struggle with alcoholism added depth and authenticity to the character of Trailer Park Dad.
